Map of Battle Frontier

Introduction

When you head West of Olivine City on foot and get to the shore, start surfing North and here you will find the entrance to the Battle Frontier! In this article, we will explain to you what Facilities inside the Battle Frontier do and what rewards lie ahead.

There are 5 Facilities inside the Battle Frontier: The Battle Arcade, Battle Castle, Battle Hall, Battle Factory and last but not least, the Battle Tower. These will all be explained in depth a bit further down but for now, we are going to show you what you can get by farming those juicy Battle Points (BP for short).

Battle Points

Battle Points are awarded for completed streaks in the 5 different Battle Towers. In 4 of the 5 Battle Towers you get Battle Points after each 7 Streak. Only in the Battle Hall will you earn Battle Points after each 10 Streak. There are also 20 extra Battle Points for completing the Gold Challenge. The Battle Points are used as currency in the Battle Frontier. You can buy items, vitamins, tokens and moves from the tutor.

Challenges

The Battle Frontier has 2 different daily challenges that you can complete once in any of the 5 towers:
The Silver and Gold Challenge.

Silver Challenge:

The Silver Challenge is unlocked after the 19th victory in 4 of the 5 towers.
If you win the 20th battle you have passed the Silver Challenge and get a small reward.
In the Battle Hall you need 50 victories for the Silver Challenge.

Reward:
50 Trainer XP
100 Gold
$1000

Gold Challenge:

The Gold Challenge works almost the same as the Silver Challenge, after 50 wins in 4 of the 5 towers the Gold Challenge is unlocked. Only in the Battle Hall you need 170 wins for the Gold Challenge. Once you have done that, you will receive another reward and you can fight the Daily Battle Frontier Boss.

Reward:
100 Trainer XP
200 Gold
$2000

Daily Boss

After completing the Gold Challenge, you can fight the Daily Boss in the Battle Frontier. The Boss in the Battle Frontier is at a different place every day. Also one of the arena leaders of Kanto or Johto.

If you want to fight the boss, you can only have 3 Pokemon in the team.
The team of the gym leader is based on the type of arena leader

Reward:

You can choose between one of these 3 rewards.

200 Trainer XP
200 Gold
10000 Pokédollars

The Battle towers

Now the core part of the Battle Frontier – the Facilities. In them you can complete various challenges to earn the currency knows as Battle Points. In 4 of the 5 towers you get your points after every 7th winning streak while the Battle Hall rewards you after every 10th win in a row. Every facility has 2 daily additional challenges – the “Silver Challenge” and the “Gold Challenge” – for extra rewards. To trigger the Silver Challenge you have to win 20 times in a row and you get a quest. In said quest all you have to do is to defeat the next challenger. The Gold Challenge needs to be triggered in similar way. Instead of 20 wins you will need 50 wins in a row. The Quest will be the same as the Silver Challenge. When you managed to beat the challenge you now have the right to fight the boss of the tower who will change on a daily basis. When you are victorious you will earn extra rewards so be sure to try your best!

BATTLE ARCADE

First we’ll look at the Battle Arcade. Here luck plays a big role in order to win battles. In the Battle Arcade you compete with 3 Pokémon and you can choose between either 1vs1 or 2vs2 as your Battle-Mode of choice. Each round you’ll meet a new opponent with 3 Pokémon, whom you’ll have to beat to build up a streak (chained wins). Between each round your Pokémon will be healed entirely.

The special thing about the Battle Arcade is that each round you can be lucky or unlucky. This means that your Pokemon or those of your opponent can have status conditions, like Burn, Freeze, Sleep or Poison from the start, which will make the battle easier or more difficult. But you can also be very lucky and get some Battle Points for free. (Silver challenge is after 20 wins and Gold challenge after 50.)

BATTLE FACTORY

Next up is the Battle Factory. In the Battle Factory you can also start with 3 Pokémon and choose 1vs1 or 2vs2 as battle mode. But the unique feature is that we can choose them from a pool of Pokémon that is given to us. Each round we will be given information about which Pokémon are roughly in the opponent team (not all of them). We can then always exchange a Pokemon in the following rounds before the fight and thus adapt our tactics a little to the opponent. (Silver Challenge 20 wins, Gold Challenge 50 wins)

BATTLE TOWER

Now we come to the Battle Tower. This facility is the most “vanilla” of them all meaning that there is no funny business here, it’s just your skill put to the test. Here we can choose 2 different battle modes, either 1vs1 or 2vs2. If you choose 1vs1 then you fight with 3 Pokémon of your choice against your opponents. In 2vs2 mode, you will instead have 4 Pokemon on each team. (Silver Challenge 20 wins, Gold Challenge 50 wins)

BATTLE HALL

In the Battle Hall you have one or two Pokemon (1vs1 or 2vs2) to fight in a team. In this Battle Mode, you must choose your opponent’s type. Then your opponent will only fight against you with this one type.
All possibilities are open to you. Also which type you take into your own team. You can fight a maximum of 10 times against the same type. After that you have to choose a new type but you can’t change your Pokémon unless you want to start over. (Silver Challenge 20 Wins, Gold Challenge 50 Wins)

BATTLE CASTLE

Last stop is Battle Castle. Here it is possible to fight in 1vs1 or 2vs2 mode. You have 3 Pokémon in your team no matter if 1vs1 or 2vs2. In Battle Castle you not only win a few Castle Points after each Streak Battle Point but also for each match. With these points you can equip your Pokémon with held Items between each Battle to be better prepared for the next battle. These will disappear when you finish the battle.

There are 3 different ranks of items, of which you need to unlock 2 for Castle Points. You will then be able to purchase much better items for your Pokémon.
