PokéOne is a Windows-native game. To play it on a Mac, you need to use a “Virtual Machine” (VM). This creates a simulated Windows computer inside your Mac.
We will use VirtualBox (Free) to install Windows 11.
New to VMs? Read this article first.
1. Preparation & Downloads
Before we start, you need to download two files:
Select “macOS / Intel hosts” 2. Windows 11 ISO
Select “Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)”
2. Setting up the Virtual Machine
Install & Open
Install VirtualBox on your Mac and open the application. Click the big “New” icon.
Name & ISO
Name: Type “PokeOne Win11”.
ISO Image: Select the Windows 11 .iso file you downloaded earlier.
Check “Skip Unattended Installation” if available for more control.
Hardware Settings (Crucial)
Base Memory: Move slider to at least 4096 MB (4GB).
Processors: Set to at least 2 CPUs.
(Windows 11 requires these minimums to run smoothly).
Hard Disk
Select “Create a Virtual Hard Disk Now”.
Size: 64GB is recommended (default).
Click Finish.
3. Installing Windows & PokéOne
Start the VM
Select your new “PokeOne Win11” entry on the left and click Start (Green Arrow).
Windows Setup
Follow the standard Windows installation steps.
Note: If asked for a product key, click “I don’t have a product key”. You can use Windows for free with minor limitations.
Play PokéOne!
Once Windows 11 boots up:
1. Open Microsoft Edge inside the VM.
2. Download the PokéOne Launcher.
3. Install and Enjoy!
To make the game run smoothly and allow full-screen mode, you must install “Guest Additions”.
While the VM is running, go to the top menu bar:
Devices > Insert Guest Additions CD Image...Then open File Explorer in Windows, go to “This PC”, open the CD Drive, and run VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe. Reboot the VM afterwards.
